IF7 IT Condo Remote Facility Management

PROJECT TITLE: Facility Webpage for the Demonstration of Remote Facility Management of the IF7 IT Condominium Project.

INVESTIGATORS: A. Scott Howe (PI).

FUNDING: Supported by Kajima Corporation, Tokyo, Japan.

PERIOD: 2002.

ABSTRACT: This research project establishes a simulated facility webpage for individual flat / apartment / condominium units, that demonstrates the advantages of remote facility management for owners and tenants. The webpage uses Virtual Reality Modeling Language (VRML) to allow the user to walk or fly-through a three-dimensional model of the apartment and click on various lights and appliances to affect control and feedback. Feedback includes simulated sensing of refrigerator contents, bath water temperature and condition, lights, stove / oven, etc.
