Dwelling + Workplace (1987)
CONCEPT: Complex designed around the three major elements of contours, solar axis, and view axis, the apartment units oriented on the view axis and the office units oriented on the solar axis. Entire complex rests on a concrete post-and-beam structural system which suspends it above the ground, only the columns and stair cylinders touching the side of the mountain.

DESCRIPTION: Apartment complex with combined apartment / office units catering to professionals and small businesses operating out of private residences. Nine apartment units are 148m2 (1,600sf) each and office units are 186m2 (2,000sf) making a total of 3,010m2 (32,400sf). Located on a high alpine mountainside overlooking Emigration Canyon, Utah.
